Semicon Bio Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to join our R&D team developing next-generation molecular electronic biosensors. This role sits at the intersection of electrochemistry, molecular biology, and biochemistry and will contribute to the development of breakthrough biological sensing technologies.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to design, execute, and analyze experiments that advance our molecular electronics platform for biological detection and analysis.
Responsibilities- Perform electrochemical characterization including:
- Cyclic voltammetry (CV)
- Chronoamperometry
- Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)
- Square Wave Voltammetry (SWV)
- Develop biomolecule immobilization strategies and surface functionalization protocols.
- Prepare and characterize DNA, proteins, enzymes, and other biological reagents.
- Correlate electrochemical signals with biological activity and molecular interactions.
- Optimize sensor performance through systematic experimental design and testing.
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate complex experimental datasets.
- Support development of next-generation single-molecule sensing technologies.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and technical reports.
- Collaborate with biologists, chemists, engineers, and data scientists across the organization.
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Hands‑on experience with electrochemical instrumentation and measurements.
- Experience in molecular biology and biochemical assay development.
- Understanding of surface chemistry and biomolecular interactions.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000–$115,000 annually. Final title and compensation will be determined based on education, years of relevant experience, hands‑on electrochemistry experience and biosensor/assay‑development experience.
