Scientist I
We are seeking a motivated Scientist I to join an innovative Gene Therapy team focused on the development and analytical characterization of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technologies for next-generation genome editing and gene therapy applications. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career scientist to contribute to cutting-edge research in a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations encapsulating nucleic acids under the guidance of senior scientists.
- Analyze raw materials and experimental formulations using established analytical techniques.
- Characterize nanoparticle properties, including particle size, surface charge, and encapsulation efficiency.
- Maintain accurate experimental records, analyze data, and communicate results to cross-functional teams.
- Prepare laboratory buffers and reagents required for analytical testing.
- Assist with routine laboratory operations, including instrument calibration, equipment maintenance, supply ordering, and laboratory organization.
- Support multiple projects while maintaining high-quality scientific standards and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience (industry or academic research experience welcomed).
- Hands-on experience preparing laboratory buffers and solutions.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS).
- Experience performing Zeta Potential measurements.
- Familiarity with Ribo Green or similar nucleic acid quantification assays.
- Experience operating High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems.
- Knowledge of nanoparticle characterization, formulation analysis, or drug delivery technologies.
- Experience using analytical software such as Graph Pad Prism or JMP.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience in Gene Therapy, RNA Therapeutics, Nanoparticle Characterization, Drug Delivery, Analytical Development, Pharmaceutical Research, or Formulation Sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.
