Pride Health / Russell Tobin is supporting a leading biopharmaceutical organization that has a contract opening for a Scientist I - Gene Therapy (Analytical Sciences) in San Diego, CA
.
- Perform analytical characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids under the direction of senior analytical scientists.
- Quantitate and analyze nanoparticle-based pharmaceutical formulations using established analytical methods.
- Analyze raw materials utilized in LNP formulation development and manufacturing.
- Evaluate physicochemical characteristics of experimental nanoparticle formulations and support correlation studies with efficacy and safety outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and compliant documentation of analytical data, experimental procedures, and study results.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including formulation, process development, and research scientists, to support gene therapy development programs.
- Assist with routine laboratory management activities, including supply inventory, ordering, instrument calibration, maintenance scheduling, and general lab organization.
- Support data analysis and presentation of findings to internal project teams.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety procedures, quality standards, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as Ribo Green assays, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), and Zeta Potential measurements is strongly preferred.
- Experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is preferred.
- Experience with additional analytical characterization techniques is a plus.
- Proficiency in preparing and formulating laboratory buffers and reagents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and documentation.
- Prior experience supporting lipid nanoparticle (LNP), gene therapy, genome editing, or nucleic acid delivery programs.
- Familiarity with analytical software such as Graph Pad Prism, JMP , or similar statistical/data analysis platforms.
- Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or gene therapy research laboratories.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality scientific output in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience supporting laboratory operations, including equipment calibration, inventory management, and laboratory compliance activities.
- Employment Type: 04 months Contract (Possible extension on the basis of performance)
- Location: San Diego, CA (Fully Onsite)
- Approved Pay Range: $40 - $45/hr on W2
