MPL Summer Internship Program
The MPL Summer Internship program is a paid, ten-week research program where students complete their own individual research project under the mentorship of some of the most notable scientists in the world. In addition to their research, students will attend weekly seminars, participate in hands-on activities, and more. Interns receive a $16.30/hour salary and a $6,000 taxable stipend to offset costs of housing, meals, transportation, etc.

- Autonomous Ocean Platforms and Global Observing Systems
- Coastal Oceanography
- Internal Waves and Ocean Mixing
- Marine Mammal Biology
- Nonlinear and Surface Waves
- Ocean Acoustics
- Ocean Instrumentation and Technology
- Ocean-Atmosphere Interactions
- Physical Oceanography
- Population and Community Ecology
- Upper Ocean and Submesoscale Processes
- Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled in their first, second, or third year of undergraduate status. Senior year undergrads, former MPL interns, and high school applicants are not eligible.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age as of the internship start date.
- Applicants must be available to start in June 2024 and work 40 hours/week for entire duration of the internship.
