Role:
Senior/Director, Preclinical Pharmacology/Toxicology leading nonclinical studies for obesity and metabolic disease therapeutics, supporting peptide and small-molecule candidates from discovery through IND.
- design, monitor, and interpret GLP and non-GLP pharmacology and toxicology studies
- serve as scientific lead for CRO interactions
- integrate pharmacology, PK, toxicokinetic, pathology, and biomarker data to inform development decisions
- contribute to regulatory submissions (INDs, NDAs)
- collaborate with clinical teams for dose/risk assessment
- mentor junior scientists
- support strategic planning for combination and next-gen therapies
- PhD/DVM/PharmD in Pharmacology, Toxicology, Physiology, or related
- 10+ years in biotech/pharma
- expertise in metabolic disease pharmacology, GLP toxicology, and support of IND-enabling programs
- familiarity with ICH guidelines
- understanding of peptide and small-molecule modalities
- experience with GLP-1/GIP/amylin pathways, combination therapies, toxicology, DMPK, and regulatory interactions
