Lab Helper

The Yang Lab is seeking a motivated individual who is capable of supporting both lab management and scientific research. Our lab uses a multi-disciplinary approach to studying the biology of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases and their related diseases including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and Antisynthetase Syndrome.

The lab helper will work directly with the lab manager to assist in providing support to the rest of the scientific staff. This position comes with the opportunity to directly assist in scientific research provided that all lab maintenance duties have been completed. This position offers flexible scheduling up to 19 hours per week. This is a year-round position.

• Glass washing, autoclaving, common reagent preparation
• Supply ordering and restocking
• Maintain lab cleanliness
• Provide scientific research assistance

• Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained.
• Requires some (0-1 years) related experience.

The expected hiring range for this position is $17.75 to $23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
