Under limited supervision, the Executive Chef’s primary objective is to manage and mentor the kitchen staff and demonstrate advanced culinary skills in order to provide meals with nutritional value and creative appeal to residents and guests. Responsible for the proper preparation of the planned menu and assists in supervision of all kitchen team members. Assures that all foods are prepared and cooked in accordance with specified recipes and procedures.

Assures that foods served to residents and guests are of a high quality, meeting standards of portion, doneness, freshness, and presentation. May work in any or all levels of care. As a representative and team member of dining services, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction in the dining department.

Regular Full-Time. Varied shifts. Must be available weekends and holidays.

Pay range $130-140k, depending on experience.

In this role, your tasks may include the following:

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our residents every day.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop culinary team members through hands-on training, regular feedback, and ongoing in-services.

  • Elevate food quality, taste, and presentation to consistently exceed resident expectations and company standards.

  • Partner with Dining Services leadership to plan creative menus, special events, and engaging culinary experiences.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and pride in our dining operations.

  • Plan production schedules, scale recipes, and guide the team with clear preparation direction.

  • Oversee purchasing, inventory, and budgeting to ensure efficient and responsible operations.

  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance (HACCP, health codes, HIPAA).

  • Engage with residents to gather feedback and continuously enhance the dining program.

  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, labeling, and equipment care to support a safe, high-performing kitchen.

  • Support service and plating during peak times and special events.

  • Promote a positive, professional presence within the community and contribute to daily leadership meetings.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Associates degree in culinary arts or other formal culinary education and/or advanced training preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience including kitchen supervisory experience in a hotel, senior community or restaurant environment.
  • Serv Safe certification and/or Food Handlers Certification or
  • Enrollment in the certification course preferred.
