• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

• Basic PC/Outlook skills

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. They provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service, assist customers with bakery purchases, maintain clean shelving and display cases, fill and rotate self‑serve displays in the front of the store and adjacent to the bakery, take special orders with customers, coordinate with the Baker on items to be baked or decorated, and help keep the department clean by hosing down floors.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, with essential functions including lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, and visual and auditory requirements. Food Handler Card (or equivalent certification) is required for all positions related to preparation, handling, and serving food.
