Group & Business Transient Sales Manager-Pre Opening
Location: San Diego, California (Gaslamp Quarter Area)
Status: Full-Time
Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 base salary + bonus incentive
Position Overview
A lifestyle hotel located in the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is seeking a dynamic Group & Business Transient Sales Manager to drive group and negotiated corporate revenue.
This is a key pre-opening sales role responsible for building foundational group and negotiated corporate business from the ground up. The ideal candidate is proactive, market-savvy, and experienced in driving production within a competitive urban environment.
This position will play an instrumental role in establishing the hotel’s market presence and supporting revenue ramp-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively solicit new group and negotiated corporate accounts through prospecting, networking, and outside sales activities.
- Manage incoming RFPs in accordance with brand and company standards.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and production goals.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to maximize profitability.
- Conduct site tours, client presentations, and virtual sales appointments.
- Participate in trade shows and industry events.
Business Transient & Account Management
- Identify and secure negotiated corporate accounts within key demand generators.
- Manage annual corporate RFP process.
- Build strong relationships with travel managers and corporate clients.
- Ensure seamless transition of confirmed business to operations teams.
- Partner with Revenue Management to optimize business mix.
- Participate in forecasting and strategy sessions.
- Support development of the annual sales plan.
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of hotel sales experience (group and/or business transient required).
- Hilton brand experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in pre-opening, conversion, or ramp-up environments preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with hotel CRM and sales systems (Delphi/FDC or similar preferred).
- Knowledge of the San Diego market a plus.
- Base Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 (commensurate with experience)
