Business Development Manager – Preclinical CROAbout the Opportunity

I’m currently working with a growing preclinical CRO that is expanding its presence across the US and looking to appoint a Business Development Manager in San Diego.

This is an opportunity to join an organisation supporting biotech and pharmaceutical companies throughout the drug discovery and development process, with a broad portfolio spanning pharmacology, disease models, in-vivo efficacy, PK/PD, bioanalysis and translational research
.

The role will focus on developing new sponsor relationships, growing existing accounts and helping clients identify the right scientific solutions for their programmes.

What You ll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of the commercial process across the US, from identifying and engaging prospective clients through to qualification, proposals, negotiations and project handover.

You'll work closely with scientific, project management and operational teams to understand client requirements and translate those needs into appropriate preclinical solutions.

You'll also have the opportunity to represent the organisation at industry conferences, client meetings, networking events and roadshows
, while developing a strong presence within the US biotech and pharmaceutical market.

What We re Looking For
  • 2+ years  experience in business development, sales or account management within a CRO, biotech or pharmaceutical environment
  • Experience selling preclinical CRO services
    , ideally across pharmacology, in-vivo models, toxicology, PK/PD, bioanalysis or related drug discovery services
  • A strong understanding of the drug discovery and development process
  • A proven ability to develop new accounts and grow existing client relationships
  • The ability to understand scientific requirements and translate them into commercial opportunities
  • An existing network within the US biotech and pharmaceutical market
    , particularly Southern California
