Position Overview
The VP/Director of Business Development will play a critical role in driving new business opportunities and expanding the company’s presence within the San Diego commercial construction market. This individual will leverage existing relationships and build new partnerships with developers, brokers, and key stakeholders to secure large-scale projects and contribute to long-term strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities- Drive new business development efforts across the San Diego and broader Southern California market
- Leverage and expand relationships with developers, brokers, architects, and industry partners
- Identify, pursue, and secure large-scale commercial construction projects (often $50M+)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align business development strategies with operational capabilities
- Contribute to overall company growth strategy and market positioning
- Represent the organization at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings
- Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and oversee deal progression
- 10+ years of senior-level business development experience within commercial construction or a related industry
- Strong, existing relationships within the San Diego commercial real estate and development market
- Proven track record of successfully bringing in large-scale construction projects
- Strategic thinker with strong leadership presence and ability to influence stakeholders
- Highly relationship-driven, proactive, and collaborative
- Familiarity with CRM tools and construction/project systems is a plus
- Base salary: $170,000+ (flexible depending on experience)
