Most home inspection companies wait for the phone to ring. We’re doing the opposite — putting a real person in front of San Diego’s real estate community every single week. This is the first role of its kind at Keen Eye, and whoever takes it will build the agent relationships this company runs on for the next decade.
About usMost home inspection companies wait for the phone to ring. We’re doing the opposite — putting a real person in front of San Diego’s real estate community every single week. This is the first role of its kind at Keen Eye, and whoever takes it will build the agent relationships this company runs on for the next decade.
About usKeen Eye Property Inspections has been inspecting homes across San Diego County since 2020. I bought the company in January 2026 and I’m growing it deliberately: two full-time inspectors, more than 400 agents who have used us, and reports agents aren’t embarrassed to hand a client. What we don’t have is anyone whose whole job is being in the room. That’s this job.
Whatsuccess looks like in a year
Twelve months from now, you are the face agents associate with Keen Eye. You’ve presented at caravans across the county, built a standing calendar of brokerage lunch-and-learns, brought dozens of new agents into our book, and reconnected with a warm list of agents who used us once and drifted. You own the relationship side of this business.
What you’ll own- The caravan circuit — visit two to three broker caravans a week, presenting at one to two a month
- Brokerage lunch-and-learns — you book them, you run them, we pay for the food and materials
- Representing Keen Eye weekly in a BNI chapter or equivalent referral group
- Reconnecting with 200+ agents who have used us before and stopped
- Keeping the pipeline current in our CRM so we both know what’s working
- A weekly number: agents added, presentations delivered, inspections traced back to you
- Two or more years working in or around residential real estate — agent, transaction coordinator, lender, title, escrow, home warranty, property management or similar
- Experience presenting to a group of ten or more people, as a regular part of a job
- Current California driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle, and genuine willingness to drive this county
- Available during business hours for caravans and morning sales meetings, plus about one evening networking event a month
- An active or recently active California real estate license
- Existing relationships with San Diego brokerages
- CRM experience — any platform
The right person is comfortable walking into a room of thirty agents who don’t know them and being glad to be there. You’ll shift naturally between a 28-year-old agent who runs their business on Instagram and a 60-year-old who has been selling in La Jolla since 1994, and be at ease with both. You’ll also be alone in your car a lot, and nobody is going to check your hours — this only works if you’re genuinely self-directed.
Payand what’s included
- $22–$25/hour depending on real estate background, 12–15 hours a week to start
- Quarterly performance bonus tied to presentations delivered and new agent relationships established
- Mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate, currently 76¢ a mile
- Full lunch and materials budget — you never pay for a presentation out of pocket
- Paid sick leave per California law, and a schedule you help set
While this is a small job today, the goal is for the role to grow as the business does. The plan is hours growing to 20–25 in the spring, full-time within twelve to eighteen months if the agent numbers support it, and from there either building and leading a small business development team or stepping into a general manager role running day-to-day operations.
