• Design genetics-based strategies for precise control of neural activity (e.g. optogenetics).
• Establish robust gene‑editing methods (e.g. CRISPR-based approaches).
• Apply genetics tools across multiple species – including unconventional and non‑model organisms.
• Lead experimental strategy, mentor junior scientists, and drive projects from concept to in vivo validation in a fast‑moving environment.
• PhD in Genetics, Neurogenetics or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in optogenetics or closely related genetic neuromodulation approaches.
• Strong track record in in vivo gene editing and genetic tool development, ideally across more than one species.
• Experience coordinating cross‑disciplinary projects and providing technical leadership or mentorship in a lab or team setting.
• Comfortable working in a high‑ownership, exploratory setting where genetic tools are developed for real‑world applications.
• We’re well‑funded and expanding fast in a space no one else is in.
• You’ll join a world‑class team working on the frontier of science and engineering.
• Your work will directly shape the foundation of biorobotic systems that redefine the interface between life and technology.
