Position description: The University of California San Diego, Department of Ophthalmology, is recruiting project scientists to join an established vision science team that uses artificial intelligence to detect ophthalmologic diseases and pursue grant funding. The role involves using extensive databases of clinical, demographic, and retinal imaging data for AI applications. Selected candidates will perform studies, provide onsite teaching and mentoring, draft manuscripts, prepare presentations, present at conferences, and participate in grant writing.
Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level based on experience.
Qualifications: Basic:
PhD or MD/PhD in Ophthalmology or a related health field. Preferred:
Experience with AI in ophthalmic research for glaucoma detection, progression, optical coherence tomography angiography, fundus, and retinal OCT.
