Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Scientist I for a contract assignment with one of our premier Pharmaceutical clients in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities :
  • Work at the direction of Analytical scientists to quantitate lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids
  • Analyze raw materials for LNP formulations
  • Establish relationships between physiochemical characteristics of experimental nanoparticle formulations and their efficacy and safety
  • Maintain detailed records of analytical data
  • Interface directly with other functional teams
  • Share responsibility for basic lab management activities (supply ordering, instrument calibration, maintaining schedules)
Required Skills:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years' experience or Master's or Bachelor's degree with 2+ years' experience in pharmaceutical sciences, bioengineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related scientific discipline (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Experience and proficiency with other analytical techniques will be considered
  • Proficiency at formulating buffers is required
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce consistent results and effectively communicate them to the team
  • Ability to be a team player, multitask and work on multiple projects at once, and excel in a collaborative work environment.
  • Proficiency at MS Excel is required; prior experience with advanced analytical software (Prism, JMP) is desirable
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred

Skills:
  • Practical experience using analytical methods such as Ribo Green, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), and Zeta potential measurement is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is preferred
