This position will be responsible for conducting research, experiments, and analysis in the field of radiochemistry. This role involves radiolabeling of diagnostic and therapeutic radioisotopes of peptides, small molecules, and/or antibodies as well as quality testing for in vitro and in vivo work. The Sr. Associate Scientist will work in laboratory settings, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance scientific knowledge and contribute to the advancement of all Rayze Bio’s internal programs.

• Develop radiochemistry methods using radioisotopes such as Lu-177, Ac-225, Cu-64, and Ga-68 (not all-inclusive) for the preparation of radio labeled peptides and small molecules.
• Develop and execute methods for the characterization of radio labeled compounds, using techniques such as radio-HPLC and radio-TLC chromatography to analyze purity and stability of the radio labeled compounds
• Develop methods and recipes and perform regular syntheses of radiotracers on automated synthesis devices
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and troubleshoot
• Present at meetings to provide timely input to progress the programs forward
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

• BS with 3 years of experience in Radiochemistry or other related scientific work experience or MS with 1+ years of experience in Radiochemistry or other related scientific work experience
• Proper radiation safety practices during radiosynthesis, radio analytical chemistry operations, and within the lab areas at all times.

• Hands on experience with radio metal labeling and analytical methods development in a radiochemistry laboratory setting
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment with evolving priorities
• Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

San Diego - Rayze Bio - CA: $95,505 - $115,730

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
