The San Diego Unified School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Campus Police Officer.
OVERVIEW: The district, the second largest in California, seeks professionals who care deeply for students and are committed to the communities they serve.
BASIC FUNCTION: As a peace officer authorized by Section 830.32 of the California Penal Code and by Education Code Sections 38000 et seq., the Campus Police Officer will protect life and property at an assigned school site and perform investigative and protective duties to provide police services in assigned areas of the district.

Location:
School Police Services, 4100 Normal Street, San Diego, CA 92013 - Work Schedule: 12 months per year / 40 hours per week.
- Salary: Paid on the P.O.A Salary Schedule, Grade 015.
- Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for district-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and eligible dependents.
- Vacancies requiring bilingual skills will be noted. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% differential.
Education and Experience: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of applicable criminal justice courses in an accredited college and one year of recent, full‑time, paid law enforcement experience of acceptable level and quality.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
- Valid California Basic P.O.S.T. certificate or eligibility for California P.O.S.T. instatement.
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license.
- United States citizenship.
- Background check including polygraph, chemical substance and medical testing, and psychological testing.
- Qualified to render basic first aid and CPR.
