Security Guards must have at least three (3) years of security guard experience, including at least two (2) years protecting critical infrastructure, or equivalent experience.
- US Military: 2+ years in any branch with an honorable discharge.
- Police Officer: 2+ years with acceptable performance.
- Police or Corrections Academy graduate (POST certified): 1 year protecting critical infrastructure.
- Criminal Justice associate degree or higher: 1 year protecting critical infrastructure.
- Homeland Security degree: 1 year protecting critical infrastructure.
Security Guards must be physically fit to stand eight (8) hours at a single post, walk uneven terrain, lift twenty‑five (25) lbs., and possess basic log and report writing skills. Proficiency in English is required.
Responsibilities- Conduct yourself professionally.
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols within an office, industrial complex, or shopping center with medium/high volume of people.
- Perform perimeter patrols.
- Check all personnel entering facilities.
- Log all visitors, vehicles, and vendors.
- Issue visitor badges as required.
- Maintain security, visitor logs, and other records.
- Administer access control over vehicles entering garages or other parking structures.
- Operate handheld radio, cell phone, or other communication devices as needed.
- Control access of all entries by employees, vendors, contractors, visitors, etc.
- Maintain and carry the assigned company cell phone as required.
- Assist employees in orderly evacuation to muster points in event of fire or other emergency.
- Observe and report suspicious activity or situations and use communication skills and deductive reasoning to prioritize responsibilities.
- Speak, read, and write English.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalency.
- High integrity and exemplary security skills and judgment.
- Above average computer skills.
- Valid California Guard Card.
- Pass a background check.
- Pass a 5‑panel drug test.
- Driver’s license / State .
- CPR certification (company can help obtain).
- Job operates in client sites, indoors or outdoors.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during daily security activities.
- Open availability nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as directed.
- Work various shifts and holidays as assigned.
