We self-perform heavy civil scopes including underground, foundations, and restoration, delivering inspection-ready work safely, efficiently, and to spec. A significant portion of our work is prevailing wage public and utility projects.
The Role (Please Read Carefully)This is a high-level hybrid operator role, not a seat-only position.
You will operate equipment regularly. When equipment is not required, you will remain fully utilized assisting the civil crew, supporting field logistics, pre-fab delivery and installation, and other production‑critical tasks.
If you’re only interested in sitting in a machine and waiting when it’s parked, this role is not a fit.
Responsibilities (Summary)- Operate excavators, mini‑excavators, skid steers, loaders, rollers/compactors
- Trenching, foundations, equipment pads, and underground utility work
- Maintain grade and subgrade; execute clean, production‑focused excavation
- Work safely around live utilities
- Support civil crews, logistics, staging, and restoration when not operating
- Tow equipment and trailers as needed (CDL strongly preferred)
- Opportunity to train on asphalt restoration and paving equipment
- 5+ years civil / underground utility equipment experience
- Strong grade control (laser/receiver/level)
- Proven experience working around live utilities
- Willing to support crew when not operating equipment
Valid CDL Class A with towing experience - Must be based in San Diego County
- Professional, reliable, safety‑first
Prevailing wage experience; asphalt/restoration experience or willingness to learn
Compensation & Benefits- $45/hr DOE
