Gov Solutions Group is looking for a Network Technician to perform PDS Inspections and Install/terminate/test fiber optic and copper network Infrastructure. On-site reporting out of San Diego, CA.
Position Duties:- The candidate will support the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both classified and unclassified network systems throughout NIWC Pacific.
- The candidate shall install and maintain copper twisted pair and fiber optic cables and provide documented certification to required specifications for network operations. This shall include new site-specific installations, modifications and enhancements to new and existing installations, distribution technology, microwave applications, standard telephone, and modem technology.
- Must possess familiarity with frameworks, protocols, and interfaces to include Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Open Systems Interconnection (OSI), Ethernet, leased lines, bridges, and routers.
- Support the inspection of NIWC Pacific’s Protected Distribution System (PDS). Inspections shall take place daily, including weekends and holidays, to validate the integrity of welds on PDS manhole covers and vaults, as well as the integrity of all PDS cable runs and/or conduit. Any suspected compromise of the PDS shall immediately be reported to the appropriate security officer.
- Candidate must be located within the San Diego metro area and be within daily commuting distance of the work location.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Ability to obtain a DOD SECRET clearance in 30 days of receiving job offer.
- MUST BE A US CITIZEN to receive security clearance.
- IAT level II certification.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 suite and MS Teams.
- Three (3) years demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and repairing network equipment, fiber, patch panel, Ethernet connections and related peripherals using industry standard equipment.
- Experience with the Standard for Installing Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling (ANSI/BICSI).
- Experience performing Protective Distribution Systems (PDS) – Alarmed Carrier inspections.
- Must reside within the San Diego metro area.
$85,000-$95,000. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
