Continental Tide is seeking an experienced and skilled Pipefitter to join our Fleet Services Group performing various ship repair, modernization, and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) projects.

• Apply craft for layout, fit‑up. Install and maintain piping systems on board ships and submarines such as steam, heat, power, hydraulics, compressed air, sea water, freshwater, and chilled water systems.
• Braze various pipe items to support on‑site installations, fit and assemble parts into complete assemblies, and verify dimensions and alignment.
• Plan layout of piping systems following blueprints, ensuring conformance to specifications, holes, and obstructions.
• Measure cut and bore holes in bulkheads and decks for installation.
• Demonstrate strong procedural knowledge of pipe bending and shaping, and operate shop machines to cut and thread pipe and pipe fittings.
• Test installed systems utilizing hydrostatic or other comparable pressure testing methods for system integrity after repairs or installation.
• Apply thorough knowledge of piping materials based on drawings or blueprints.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school, trade or vocational school degree.
• 5–10 years of direct experience in ship repair and installation of Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, installation specifications, and NAVSEA Standard Items (preferred).
• Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance.
• Must be able to obtain base access and security credentials.
• Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes, no less than 30 lbs.
• Ability to work on and climb ladders, in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces.
• Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
