Low-Voltage Lead Technician - San Diego, CA

(hourly / hands-on crew lead)

Pay scale $20 - $45 per hour DOE - prevailing-wage public work may exceed $55 per hour (Hourly Rate Band based on hour classification-different travel, admin, and installation rates)
(≈ $60 k - $93 k a year at 2,080 hrs + OT)

What you'll lead

• 3-6 technicians pulling and terminating Cat 6A & OM4 fiber, labeling, Fluke/OTDR testing

• Installation and start-up of UPS units, PoE switches, Wi-Fi 6E access points, IP-CCTV and structured cabling

• Daily huddles, material staging, progress tracking, as-built docs, Cal/OSHA safety tailboards

• On-site coaching and performance feedback for apprentices

What you'll do hands-on

• Rack, ladder-tray and patch-panel builds;
Layer 1/2 troubleshooting; client cut-overs

• Resource scheduling and rapid issue resolution in partnership with Project Managers

Minimum qualifications

• 3 + years leading low-voltage install crews (copper, fiber, network gear, UPS)

• California driver's license (clean) able to lift 50 lbs and work ladders & lifts

• No criminal record
• available for regular day trips and occasional overnights

Reporting line Reports to the Manager - Engineering Field Services and collaborates daily with Sales Engineers & PMs.

Performance metrics On-time task delivery, test-pass rate, accurate documentation, positive customer feedback.
