Summary Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! The COMNAVAIRPAC Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) is looking for experienced HVAC Subject Matter Expert (SME). The experienced technician will performs shipboard equipment assessments and repairs while training Ships Force personnel and validating installed systems to ensure accurate documentation.

This is a full-time position located in San Diego, CA. What You Will Do
* Considered subject matter expert in technical specialty.
* May work directly with customer or customer representatives, attend meetings and deploy for special projects.
* Conduct material condition assessments, troubleshooting and repairs on various equipment throughout the ship.
* Train Ships Force on proper assessment techniques.
* Train Ships Force on using technical documentation such as drawings and technical manuals.
* Validate equipment installed on CVNs to verify APL accuracy. What You Must Have
* High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 8 years of related experience, to include specific systems expertise.
* Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
* Proven expertise assessing, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, chilled water plants, air conditioning systems, hydraulic equipment, pumps, turbines, and auxiliary machinery.
* Experience developing and executing Quality Management Plans (QMPs).
* Experience identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies to prevent schedule impacts.
* Experience with planning work for major maintenance availabilities (i.e. SRA's, DPIA, PIA and CMAV's) equipment overhauls, modernization projects, and lifecycle sustainment efforts.
* A current EPA Universal Certification.
* Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
* Experience with shipboard WAF and tagout processes.
