SummaryJoin HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloate! This position is for an experienced Auxiliaries systems / equipment mechanic for the COMNAVAIRPAC Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT). The experienced mechanic will be the subject matter expert for Galley and Refrigeration equipment and perform comprehensive equipment evaluations and repairs aboard CVNs, train ship personnel in proper assessment methods and technical documentation use, and verify installed systems to ensure accurate logistics records.
This is a full-time position, located in San Diego, CA.
- Considered subject matter expert in technical specialty.
- Conducting material condition assessments, troubleshooting and repairs on various equipment throughout the ship.
- Train Ships Force on using technical documentation such as drawings and technical manuals.
- Validate equipment installed on CVNs to verify APL accuracy.
- May work directly with customer or customer representatives, attend meetings and deploy for special projects.
- Ability to manage, oversee, schedule and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs.
- Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
- Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
- Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.
- Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 8 years of related experience, to include specific systems expertise.
- Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Experience generating Technical Work Documents (MP and FWP).
- Experience assessing, troubleshooting and repairing shipboard auxiliary equipment to include:
Galley and sculleries, ship’s Laundry, Water heaters, Pump…
