Job Summary

M1 is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic I (Power Plants). This maintenance role focuses on the upkeep of H‑60 series aircraft, including the MH60‑R model. Responsibilities include supporting maintenance and repair of various aircraft systems, performing inspections, and ensuring aircraft readiness in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment. The role involves repairing and maintaining aircraft components such as engines, avionics, landing gear, hydraulic systems, and flight surfaces, using hand and power tools, interpreting technical data, and conducting both routine and emergency maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft system repairs and rebuilds on structure, engines, gearboxes, rotor systems, and avionics using welding, shear‑metal brakes, rivet guns, and drills.
  • Conduct inspections (e.g., 175‑hour, isochronal, phase inspections) and troubleshoot engine components, hydraulic systems, and more; use testing equipment to assess function and replace damaged parts.
  • Adjust, repair, and replace electrical wiring systems and other accessories to ensure safe operation.
  • Carry out pre‑flight, thru‑flight, and post‑flight maintenance inspections to keep aircraft operationally ready.
  • Participate in jacking, towing, and moving aircraft; record all maintenance activities.
  • Specialize in areas such as engine repair, airframe maintenance, electrical systems, or armament under guidance.
  • Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and ensure compliance with quality standards; support FOD prevention and HAZMAT handling.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance in OOMA or similar systems ensuring compliance with 4790 and safety standards.
  • Assign tasks and monitor work completion; ensure safety procedures during repairs and inspections; manage or supervise junior mechanics when required.
Additional Duties
  • Maintain a clean and safe shop environment.
  • Obtain and maintain CDI (Collateral Duty Inspector) certification.
  • Participate in safety programs and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Manage or coordinate maintenance programs as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of H‑60 series aircraft maintenance experience (or equivalent rotary aircraft experience); at least three (3) years as a CDI/CDQAR.
  • Preferred experience with MH60‑R.
  • Obtain necessary certifications such as CDI or QAR.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required qualifications per U.S. Navy maintenance guidelines.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse, cross‑cultural teams.
  • Proficiency with computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and NALCOMIS/OOMA.
  • Must obtain and maintain favorably adjudicated Tier‑3 Background Investigation and possible secret clearance.
  • Current valid U.S. Driver's License.
Working Conditions
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must meet physical standards and pass a medical exam.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain strong organizational skills and mental alertness.
  • Must work all shifts; full‑time employment with flexibility required to support flight schedules.
