What this job involves

The Electrical Technician performs essential planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and emergency response services for building electrical systems. This hands‑on role ensures optimal operational effectiveness and reliability of facility equipment while maintaining strict adherence to health and safety standards and quality assurance procedures. You'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of maintenance activities—from scheduled inspections and system repairs to emergency callouts—while coordinating with specialist contractors and maintaining accurate documentation that supports contract requirements and client satisfaction.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:
Executing planned preventative maintenance schedules for mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring engineering standards are maintained to maximize plant reliability and operational effectiveness responding promptly to reactive maintenance issues, help desk requests, and emergency callouts related to electrical services, heating, ventilation, lighting, and distribution systems performing electrical fault diagnosis, system repairs, and controls maintenance for building services equipment, including heating, ventilation, lighting systems, and electrical distribution networks coordinating specialist subcontractors for electrical aspects of PPM schedules and managing initial actions for client extra works and improvement requests maintaining accurate records and documentation for all maintenance activities, ensuring full compliance with onsite Quality Assurance procedures and Health and Safety at Work Act requirements attending monthly site meetings, providing work and equipment reports, and assisting other trades as necessary to support integrated facilities operations proactively identifying opportunities for contract growth into additional service provisions including mechanical and electrical upgrades, like-for-like replacements, project works, and soft services.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Ability to perform tasks requiring physical fitness, including lifting, climbing, reaching, and working in confined spaces.

Work on continental shift pattern including days, nights, weekends, and rotating schedules.
