HVAC Installer - San Diego, California- Direct Hire Opportunity

Seeking a skilled HVAC Install Technician to add to our growing team. This role focuses on leading residential HVAC installation projects for home remodels, including furnaces, air conditioning units, ductwork, thermostats, compressors, mini-splits, and heat pumps. You will oversee installations from start to finish, provide on-site customer service, and mentor a helper or apprentice while representing the company professionally at customer homes.
You will drive a company vehicle to job sites, with the option to take the vehicle home.
- Perform residential HVAC installations including furnaces, air conditioning units, ductwork, thermostats, compressors, mini-splits, and heat pumps.
- Lead installation projects on-site, ensuring all work meets safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and local codes.
- Train, mentor, and supervise a helper or apprentice, providing clear instruction and guidance on installation tasks and best practices.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, actively listen to their concerns, and explain work being performed in a clear and respectful manner.
- Connect electrical components related to HVAC systems, including service panels, circuits, circuit breakers, and associated wiring as required for installations.
- Interpret and follow schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions to ensure accurate and efficient setup of HVAC systems and related equipment.
- Assist with installation of related systems such as generators, EV chargers, and charging stations when required by the project scope.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of HVAC installation experience.
- Leadership experience including running jobs and overseeing installations.
- EPA Universal Certifications.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and installation documentation.
- Familiarity with installing generators, EV chargers, and charging stations.
- Experience with Service Titan or similar field service management software.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
- Ownership of essential HVAC tools required for residential installation work.
- Ability to maintain a presentable, professional appearance while working in customer homes.
Family-owned business with over 14 years of experience in the HVAC industry, working on residential, commercial, multi-family, or hospitality sites.
Work EnvironmentYou will work primarily at customer properties, often in attics, basements, mechanical rooms, and other areas where furnaces, air conditioning units, ductwork, and related systems are installed. The position involves daily use of hand and power tools, HVAC equipment, electrical components, and diagnostic tools. You will drive a company vehicle to and from job sites, with the option to take the vehicle home.
Work conditions may include varying temperatures, tight spaces, and physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and climbing. The dress code emphasizes a clean, professional appearance suitable for working inside occupied homes and interacting directly with customers.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $72800.00/yr.
