Role DescriptionThe Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. Daily tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting system issues, completing maintenance and repair work orders, and documenting all service activities accurately. The technician will interact with customers on-site, explain findings and recommended solutions, and support high standards of safety and compliance with company and industry regulations.
The role also involves collaborating with dispatch and project teams, managing tools and materials, and contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to accurately diagnose HVAC system issues.
- Experience with maintenance & repair tasks, including corrective work on HVAC components.
- Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction, with professional communication and service-oriented behavior.
- EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for handling refrigerants, in accordance with regulations.
- Relevant technical training or certification in HVAC or a closely related field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to travel to customer sites in the region.
- Capability to perform physical tasks associated with HVAC work, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environments, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prior commercial HVAC experience is preferred; experience with plumbing, electrical, controls, or related building systems is a plus.
