Residential Services Coordinator I
At Father Joe's Villages, we believe safe and supportive housing environments are essential to helping individuals transition out of homelessness and toward long-term stability. Our Residential Services team provides 24/7 support to create safe, welcoming, and respectful environments where people can begin rebuilding their lives. Many of the people we serve are facing challenges such as experiencing homelessness, health concerns, mental health conditions, or other barriers that make daily life difficult.
Residential Service Coordinators help clients navigate these challenges by providing support, connecting them with resources, and helping create a positive community within our residential programs.
This is a front-line role that works directly with clients every day. Successful Residential Services Coordinators are dependable, caring, and comfortable working with people from many different backgrounds and life experiences.
Success in this role means treating clients with dignity and respect, helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment, connecting people with appropriate resources, and working closely with other staff to support client success. You'll help residents feel supported, address concerns before they become bigger issues, and contribute to positive outcomes for individuals working toward housing stability and independence.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome clients and conduct intake and orientation activities.
- Provide client-centered support and connect residents to internal and community-based resources such as healthcare, housing, employment, and social services.
- Maintain accurate client records in program databases in compliance with organizational and grant requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of residential areas to promote cleanliness, safety, and shared community responsibility.
- Collaborate with program staff to identify concerns or barriers affecting client stability and support solution-focused interventions.
- Foster a welcoming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive residential environment.
- Monitor residential spaces and respond appropriately to client needs or program concerns.
- Complete required trainings and maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in social services, residential programs, customer service, or community support, ideally including work with diverse or vulnerable populations, demonstrating reliability and professional client interaction preferred.
- Understanding of client engagement practices grounded in compassion, respect, and trauma-informed care.
- Basic documentation and data entry skills aligned with program or grant compliance standards.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office or similar data systems.
- Familiarity with community resources or willingness to learn service navigation processes.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced residential environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to observe, assess situations, and respond appropriately to maintain a safe environment.
- Professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
- Dependability, accountability, and strong teamwork orientation.
This full-time role supports a 24/7 residential facility and thus candidates will be hired into the following three (3) regular shift schedules, based on organizational need:
Day: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Swing: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Grave: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Employees work five (5) days per week to include weekend days and holidays, as assigned. Employees are expected to consistently work these non-traditional schedules and collaborate with team members across different shifts to ensure smooth residential operations.
