About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified and compassionate Social Worker to serve the George community. This role is central to providing essential support services to individuals, families, and groups facing social challenges, aiming to enhance their well-being and functional capacity. You will play a crucial part in assessment, intervention, and referral, connecting clients with necessary resources and advocating for their rights.
This position requires a dedicated professional who can navigate complex social issues with sensitivity and expertise, contributing to a positive impact within the community's social fabric.
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and strengths.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans in collaboration with clients.
- Provide counseling and therapeutic support to individuals and families experiencing crises or life challenges.
- Facilitate referrals to appropriate community resources, health services, and support networks.
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to services, intervening when necessary.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential case records in compliance with ethical standards and organizational policies.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work is essential.
- Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).
- Proven experience working in a community-based social work setting.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and ethical principles governing social work practice.
- Excellent assessment, intervention, and case management skills.
- Strong report writing and communication abilities, particularly in George .
