Apple’s Cellular Software team is seeking versatile, highly motivated and focused engineers to work across layers on groundbreaking cellular technologies. The position involves identifying and/or developing core cellular technologies that solves everyday problems for customers using iPhone, iPad, Watch and other wireless product lines. We are passionate about keeping our users connected 24/7 wherever they go. This role requires critical expertise in multiple layers in cellular protocols, experience with UE and/or NW protocols development for various 3

GPP technologies is important.

The candidate must demonstrate tried understanding of relevant protocol procedures and network interactions.

• Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of critical cellular features.
• Translate complex 3
  
  GPP specifications (Rel-16, Rel-17 and beyond) for 5G  4G LTE into efficient, maintainable C code.
• Own features from architectural design through implementation, focusing on NAS (5
  
  GMM/5
  
  GSM) protocol layers.
• Design and implement state machines and data structures.
• Lead interactions within a multi-threaded RTOS environment.
• Debug system-level issues on target hardware.
• Analyze protocol logs from test teams.
• Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams.
• Ensure feature stability and performance.
• Drive features and bug fixes through integration, field testing, commercialization, and post-launch support.

• Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree.
• 2+ years of experience working with Algorithms, Data Structures, and Embedded Systems.
• Strong coding skills in C/C++.
• Experience with cellular protocol stacks, preferred 2G, 3G, LTE and 5G .

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
