Sr. Software Test Engineer

Are you an experienced Sr. Software Test Engineer with expertise in medical device Software V&V, Agile, and system-level validation, and who leverages tools such as JMP, Minitab, LabVIEW, and Test Stand to ensure compliant, high-quality product releases? If so, Pride Health has an exciting opportunity for you!

Our client, a top medical device organization based in San Diego, CA, has a contract opening for a Sr. Software Test Engineer. In this high-impact role, you’ll be supporting the SW V&V process for our medical device manufacturing processes.

Important Details:
  • 6‑month contract with potential to extend/convert to an FTE
  • San Diego, CA - Hybrid (2 weeks/Month)
  • Monday‑Friday (40 hours/week)
  • Pay rate range approved: $65‑70/HR, depending on experience
Responsibilities:
  • To support the SW V&V process for our medical device manufacturing processes
  • Generate user requirements (URS) for systems containing software, hardware, and firmware
  • Generate test plans and protocols (PLN) for verifying all user and software requirements
  • Execute all system-level testing
  • Write SW V&V report (RPT) and include evidence of test completion, explaining anomalies or deviations
  • Follow the release process through the product lifecycle management system (Oracle)
  • Support release of ancillary documentation, such as engineering studies or lab‑book reports (LBRs)
  • Participate in cross‑functional team meetings and/or technical reviews
  • High attention to detail and excellent written communication skills required to report bugs, capture user needs, synthesize into testable requirements, and track/report progress
  • Knowledge of basic statistics for Measurement Systems Analysis (gage studies, statistical sampling, SPC, DOE, etc.), leveraging JMP
  • Perform repeatable testing procedures and processes
  • Document and monitor testing outcomes and establish steps to remedy problems
  • Verify triggers, stored procedures, referential integrity, hardware product, or system specifications
  • Analyze current technologies used within the company and develop steps and processes to improve testing procedures
  • Run BVTs, troubleshoot, report, and escalate, as necessary
  • Be familiar with .NET and the SML framework
Minimum candidate qualifications and experience:
  • Work‑related years of experience 5+
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science required
  • Agile Experience - 2 Years minimum
  • SW V&V - 5 years minimum required
  • Medical Device (21

    CFR part 820)
  • Measurement Systems Analysis/JMP/Minitab
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred

Skills and abilities:
  • Knowledge of SDLC/GAMP 5
  • Background in analytical chemistry
  • History of working with NI‑based test equipment
  • Case Management Experience - 3+ years
