Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Drive the technical direction and development of our smart glasses and mobile products. Provide technical guidance, foster innovation, and deliver exceptional results. Develop firmware and Android components for smart glasses and mobile products. Utilize your deep understanding of embedded systems and microcontroller architecture to guide the design and implementation of firmware components. Leverage expertise in C/C++ programming to develop efficient and reliable firmware and Android software.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless interaction between firmware, software, and hardware components. Update and optimize firmware drivers to enhance product performance and compatibility. Debug, troubleshoot, and evaluate system performance to identify and resolve issues promptly. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, fostering their growth and development. Define and drive technical work streams, ensuring alignment with project goals and deadlines.

Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and leadership to provide project updates, technical insights, and recommendations. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and methodologies.

Education:

Bachelor – Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field of study; will accept equivalent of foreign degree.

Experience:

Three (3) years in the position above, Staff Engineer, Software Engineer or in a related software engineering role.

Experience must include:

• C and C++ programming;
• Embedded systems and microcontroller architecture;
• Android software architecture, including Android HAL and AOSP;
• RTOS, low-level hardware interfaces and Linux kernel/device driver;
• Debugging, troubleshooting and optimizing firmware drivers for performance, power and compatibility;
• Wireless communication protocols, Power management, memory optimization and system performance tuning for resource-constrained environments.
• Version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
