As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting‑edge, world‑class products that meet and exceed customer needs. You will collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system‑level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.

Software Analytics and Global Automation (SAGA) Team

The SAGA team is looking for a passionate, self‑driven and innovative Software Engineer who is eager to work on cutting‑edge technologies. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in C/C++ programming and a passion for software development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain C/C++ applications.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement software solutions.
  • Gather requirements and drive feature delivery end‑to‑end.
  • Debug and resolve complex software defects and issues.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of academic or work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of industry experience in the following areas.
  • Excellent coding and debugging skills in C/C++.
  • Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience in object‑oriented analysis and design (OOA and OOD).
  • Good knowledge of design patterns.
  • Experience with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Development experience in Windows/Linux based environments.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and knowledge of SDLC processes.
  • Understanding of multi‑threading and concurrency.
  • Web development skills, Electron, React, Angular, and Node.js, Jenkins, and CI/CD processes.
  • Development experience with USB drivers; knowledge of libusb is a plus.
  • AI programming / Large language models (LLMs) with strong C programming skills.
  • Experience with debugging tools (windbg, Visual Studio debugger, Process Explorer, etc.).
  • Writing portable and cross‑platform code.
  • Experience with CMake for cross‑platform build configurations.
  • Experience with using source control management tools like Git.
  • Experience in C++ programming and Linux system programming.
  • Experience with Win
    32 APIs and Linux debugging tools (gdb, strace, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced dynamic team environment.
  • Good communication skills and team player mentality.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Apply software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to design and customize software for optimal operational efficiency.
  • Design and implement software modules for products and systems.
  • Participate in design, coding for large features, unit testing, significant debugging fixes, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications and schedules.
  • Perform code reviews and regression tests as well as triages and fixes issues to ensure the quality of code.
  • Collaborate with others inside the project team to accomplish project objectives.
  • Write technical documentation for software projects.
