At Qualcomm, the Snapdragon chipsets push power and thermal limits in the compute industry with increasingly complex use cases and workloads. Qualcomm’s low‑power SoC technology is central to a compute solution and presents challenges in extending battery life, thermal sustainability, and achieving high performance within the device thermal envelope. This role is critical to developing innovative software approaches that optimize battery life while maintaining high performance in premium tier compute devices.
The Windows Power team works across workloads such as Browser, Gaming, Productivity, Social Media, Streaming, AI/ML, device stand‑by, 5G, and Wi‑Fi connectivity. This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.
- Lead Snapdragon Premium‑Tier chipsets and dive into deep OS‑level optimization on latest Windows OS.
- Develop software features to improve power and performance; work with hardware and software technology teams to identify and commercialize new hardware/software features.
- Implement algorithmic improvements to Windows kernel resource‑management schemes (e.g., Windows Scheduler Task Placement, resource scaling, and power management of various hardware IPs) and develop simulation models for rapid prototyping of software features.
- Extend device analytics tools and platforms to understand real‑world usage of Snapdragon hardware/platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of software engineering or related work experience.
- Master’s degree in the same fields with 1+ year of software engineering or related work experience.
- PhD in the same fields.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
