Summary:

This role leads, plans, and synthesizes ambiguous or conflicting requirements and handles the design, development, integration, testing and validation, and performance optimization of low-level device driver software, firmware and hardware/software interfaces for new MSM ASIC chipsets, multimedia frameworks, and USB/UVC Camera software stacks. It also involves developing, creating, and modifying general computer applications software or specialized utilities; analyzing user needs; designing software solutions;

and collaborating with others to design systems and interfaces.

Contributes to database-related design as needed, and modifies existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints. Collaborates with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and gather information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Stores, retrieves, and manipulates data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.

Designs, develops, and modifies software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes and implications of design. Serves as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings and communicates and implements a development plan.

Education & Experience:

Will accept a Master s Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Will also accept a Bachelor s Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and four (4) years of experience in a related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.

• Lead, plan, synthesize requirements and perform design, development, integration, testing and validation of low-level device driver software, firmware and hardware/software interfaces for MSM ASIC chipsets, multimedia frameworks, USB/UVC camera software stack.
• Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions; design software or customize software for client use to optimize operational efficiency.
• Analyze databases within an application area as needed and coordinate database development as part of a team.
• Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
• Assess and analyze user needs and software requirements to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
• Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and obtain information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
• Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes and consequences of design.
• Participate actively in design reviews and project meetings and help implement a development plan.

• Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or Bachelor's Degree with four (4) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Experience in software design, development, integration, and testing for device drivers, firmware, and software interfaces.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for design reviews and cross-functional teams.
