Embedded Software Intern

Software Development Internship

We are looking for software development interns who want responsibility and ownership over meaningful software challenges that can impact the company immediately and into the future. You will be paired with experienced engineers to work on individual projects and as part of our teams.

At Maxentric, our software interns will work on cross‑discipline R&D projects in networking, wireless communication, health, and artificial intelligence. You may write firmware to control electronics, design and implement user interfaces, optimize algorithms, or code backend computations for cutting‑edge research.

Location:

Maxentric’s California office in downtown La Jolla. (Optionally, New Jersey office in Fort Lee.)

• Pursuing or have obtained a degree in CS, EE, or ME.
• Up‑to‑date, hands‑on software design, development, and programming experience.
• Ability to design systems, document designs, and communicate them.
• Driven to find solutions to challenging engineering problems.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Excited by prototype‑to‑product development and problem‑solving.
• Experience with designing and implementing real‑time applications.
• Experience with embedded development.
• Experience with Unix/Linux‑based systems.
• Experience with Linux driver development.
• Experience with mobile application development for Android and/or iOS.
• Experience with design and implementation of cyber/network security functions.
• Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence.
• Strong communication skills.

• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to the nature of our military work.

Good faith pay range: $20–30 per hour.
