Job Overview
Position:
Senior Software Engineer (Temporary) – C2 Software Product Team
Location:
San Diego, CA – Onsite
Duration:
Temporary assignment of undetermined length
Compensation: $45.91 to $87.36 per hour (good faith estimate)
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and integrate distributed software for next‑generation C2 architectures.
- Build and evaluate prototype capabilities as part of IRAD efforts, transitioning research concepts into early fieldable implementations.
- Develop microservice‑style or containerized components supporting scalable, networked command‑and‑control workflows.
- Collaborate with team to define interfaces, data flows, and performance requirements.
- Conduct integration, test, and performance analysis in simulated/lab environments and document designs, APIs, test results, and engineering decisions.
- Participate in agile planning, technical reviews, and cross‑team design discussions.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in software development and deployment, including analysis, design, integration, automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment.
- At least 5 years of experience with Java, containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes), and Git Lab.
- Experience working in a team‑focused development environment such as Agile/SCRUM.
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Secret clearance) required after day
1. - Typical degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) required.
- Strong background in distributed systems, real‑time or near‑real‑time processing, or autonomous system software.
- Experience with Java, Python, GoLang, and/or container‑oriented development (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Understanding of networking, messaging frameworks, or middleware used in distributed command‑and‑control systems.
- Exposure to model‑based engineering, simulation environments, or digital‑engineering tools.
- Experience working on IRAD, early R&D prototypes, or technology maturation efforts and Combat Systems solutions.
