What You Will Do

Provides a leadership role for the Web Development team encompassing all aspects of application design and development, user interfaces, data interfaces, secure programming, scalability, and system performance. Will lead IS project initiatives, provide planning expertise and act as a mentor to other technical staff.

Required Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in a software development role.
  • 4 years of experience in a hands‑on, technical leadership role.
  • Experience with full‑stack software development (client, services, database).
  • Experience working with modern JS/UI frameworks (Node.js, React, NextJS, Angular, VueJS, MaterialUI, Tailwind CSS, Recharts, D3.js, Gatsby, etc.).
  • Experience with both relational and non‑relational databases (Postgres, MS SQL Server, MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc.).
  • Experience working with AWS services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, Cloud Front, S3, Event Bridge, Elastic Cache, etc.) or similar cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Experience in an Agile development environment.
Other Qualification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Health Care Administration; or relevant experience exceeding five years or appropriate certifications may substitute for the degree.

Essential Functions

Design and Development – Designs, develops, documents, and maintains web application software and databases using standard programming conventions. Implements sound system solutions that align with business strategy and operational needs, interprets requirements, and translates specifications into efficient code. Performs change‑control management, code reviews, and documentation of file structures, programming constructs, and installation instructions.

Leadership – Provides leadership for product development and support, supervising and guiding web application development activities. Trains new and existing developers, proposes and implements creative solutions, and manages client and department expectations through effective communication.

Problem Analysis and Resolution – Performs thorough analysis of applications to ensure highest availability, scalability, security, and performance. Recommends flexible, reliable solutions, monitors system performance, handles on‑call support, and resolves issues with minimal impact to production.

Project Management – Demonstrates technical leadership and project management techniques, creates project matrices, communicates schedules, and provides alternative solutions to overcome resource constraints. Develops comprehensive project plans, manages resource allocation, monitors and triages issues, and ensures project completion on time.

System Configuration and Testing – Manages configuration, development, test execution, and deployment. Maintains system documentation, enforces test environments, synchronizes development and production changes, and oversees testing procedures to meet quality standards.

Technology Review – Provides leadership in evaluating and recommending new technologies, works closely with vendors, and acts as an in‑house technical consultant to IT application teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Understands application architecture and infrastructure, secure programming concepts, PCI and HIPAA compliance, and mentors junior staff. Handles frequent deadlines, prepares work and presentations on short notice, and remains professional when interacting with users or clients.

Benefits

Pay Range (Minimum – Midpoint – Maximum): $62.230 – $80.300 – $89.930. The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade will depend on experience, skills, education, internal alignment, marketplace factors, and employer business practices.

Hours, Shift Start/End Times, AWS Hours Requirement, Additional Shift Information, Weekend Requirements, On‑Call Requirements, and other scheduling details are managed per organizational policies.
