Responsibilities

Summary:

The Software Test Engineer will join a dynamic, agile development team focused on delivering a user-facing application for mobile device platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring the overall quality, reliability, and performance of the software through both manual and automated testing methodologies. It requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality software. The engineer will collaborate closely with Systems Engineers, Developers, and fellow Test Engineers to validate functionality across user interface and backend components, while contributing to comprehensive test documentation and delivery artifacts.

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality against requirements.
  • Develop and maintain testing tools, frameworks, and best practices to ensure product quality.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, design discussions, and review sessions.
  • Validate that quality standards and acceptance criteria are met prior to code integration.
  • Identify, document, track, and report software defects and testing outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to application functionality, output, user interface, and content.
  • Contribute to product design reviews, providing feedback on requirements, usability, and potential risks.
  • Author and maintain test documentation, supporting system and software CDRL deliverables.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams within an Agile Scrum environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5‑7 years of experience in software testing and/or software development.
  • Strong experience with manual and automated testing practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience implementing and executing regression testing strategies.
  • Experience with non‑functional testing, particularly performance testing.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DoD 8570 certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP) or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and tools.
  • Experience identifying process improvements across development and testing workflows.
  • Hands‑on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Experience with issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Version One).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
Desired Skills
  • Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe).
  • Familiarity with Dev Ops practices and principles.
Pay Range

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested, and determinable.

Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
