Electrical Engineer With Embedded Background
We are seeking a strong Electrical Engineering consultant with embedded background to design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller based systems. The role requires close collaboration between hardware and software, including hardware bring up, low level driver development, and system integration Experience with USB Interfaces & PCB & manufacturing background is required
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and debug embedded firmware for microcontrollers and embedded processors
- Perform hardware bring up for new boards, including validation of schematics and PCB designs
- Write low level drivers for peripherals such as GPIO, Client, timers, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN
- Implement and maintain bare metal or RTOS based firmware (e.g., FreeRTOS)
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on schematic reviews, component selection, and design improvements
- Optimize system performance, power consumption, and reliability
- Develop firmware for bootloaders, firmware updates, and diagnostics
- Create and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and design specifications
- Support manufacturing, testing, and field issue analysis
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in embedded firmware development
- Strong proficiency in Embedded C (C/C++ preferred)
- Solid understanding of:
Microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex M preferred) Memory mapped I/O and registers Interrupts, timers, and DMA - Hands on experience with hardware debugging and board bring up
- Knowledge of analog and digital electronics
- Familiarity with communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX)
- Basic PCB design or review experience (Altium, KiCad, Eagle)
- Familiarity with power management, EMI/EMC considerations
- Experience in IoT / Automotive / Industrial embedded systems
- Exposure to CI/CD, unit testing, or firmware automation
- Knowledge of safety or embedded compliance standards (ISO 26262, MISRA)
