As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and edge software, applications, and/or specialized programs that launch cutting‑edge, world‑class products that meet and exceed customer needs. You will collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system‑level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.
The Sensors Team develops leading‑edge, low‑power embedded software solutions to enable key mobile applications such as multimedia, navigation, compute, IoT, wearables, virtual reality, augmented reality, gaming, health, and smart user interface. The team is responsible for an industry‑leading “Always ON” software platform that fuses various technologies such as sensors, audio, location, camera, Bluetooth, and WiFi for user and device context determination and personalization.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Embedded software development in C/C++.
- Embedded real‑time operating systems.
- Experience in Linux/Android/Windows operating system.
- Experience with embedded software debug tools.
- Excellent understanding of software design and development process.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced team environment.
- Familiarity with Sensors Technology is a plus.
- Programming experience with Java, Python, etc.
- Understanding of digital signal processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
- Applies advanced software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.
- Analyzes complex user needs and software requirements to select appropriate technologies and design frameworks for specific project needs, considering performance, scalability, and security.
- Develops and maintains architectural designs for software systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Undertakes design, coding for large features, unit testing, significant debugging fixes, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications and schedules.
- Uses tools and techniques to model and analyze software systems, identify potential bottlenecks, optimize performance, and ensure code quality.
- Leverages technical knowledge with others inside the project team to accomplish project objectives and make informed decisions.
- Writes technical documentation for software projects.
- Works independently and leads others in the team.
- Manages complex projects while meeting project expectations.
- Decision‑making may affect work beyond the immediate team.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information to somewhat large audiences, may require advanced negotiation, influence, and tact.
- Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem‑solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Pay and BenefitsPay range: $94,200.00–$. This scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum pay for this job code at the location posted. Salary is only one component of total compensation. A competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants are also offered. (Employees on sales‑incentive plans are not eligible for the annual bonus.)
