Leidos has a new and exciting opportunity for a Sr. Applications Software Engineer located in our National Security Sector's (NSS) Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). This role focuses on security engineering, computer network operations, mission software, analytics, signals intelligence, and cryptographic key management.

Product development includes tactical mobile development as well as enterprise web application development. The portfolio of products supports the Cybersecurity and Information Assurance domains, deploying a variety of technologies and interfacing with infrastructure to provide secure, modern solutions for the warfighter.

The successful candidate will work on a mix of web service development, full‑stack web application development, and robust persistence layers in an Agile Scrum environment. This involves using themes, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other system engineering artifacts as part of an Agile team.

The candidate will be an expert in secure software development principles and techniques, using software tools in cooperation with continuous integration and test automation, and understanding software components and their interface requirements. The role interfaces with software engineers, system engineers, information assurance engineers, test engineers, QA, and other project team members.

Responsibilities also include setting standards and helping the team adopt test‑driven development (TDD) practices within the Leidos Agile Framework, ensuring engineering rigor on all assigned tasks, and mentoring junior software engineers.

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with 17+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s with 15+ years of experience
• Active Secret Clearance (Required)
• Experience with web‑based technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Experience in Scrum or other Agile environments (e.g., SAFe, XP)
• Experience with UI/Development frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, Ionic, GWT, SmartGWT, Qt, React, Node.js)
• Experience with automated testing tools and concepts (Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin, BDD)
• Experience with test‑driven development (TDD)
• Strong teamwork skills and excellent written and verbal communication
• DoD 8570‑approved security certification (e.g., Security+), required within 90 days of hire

• Experience with web services architectures (REST, SOAP, AWS)
• Experience with software configuration management (e.g., Git, Git Hub)
• Experience with continuous integration, quality, and Dev Ops tools (e.g., Ant, Maven, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, Fish Eye, Crucible, Gradle, JUnit)
