Trilogy Innovations is looking for a talented Junior-level Software Developer to support a high-visibility federal modernization program — all while working 100% remotely. This role requires at least a Secret Security Clearance, and primary work location is remote.

To support critical system needs, this role participates in a rotating on-call schedule for one week out of every four. During your on-call week, you’ll be part of a responsive support team that helps ensure system reliability and continuity.

• Acknowledge on-call contacts (phone, text, or email) within 15 minutes
• Remain within reasonable access to your secure work laptop while on call
• Log in and begin assessing or troubleshooting requests within 60 minutes of notification

• Develop, create, and modify computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
• Develop microservices in a cloud native environment.
• Operate an enterprise scale production system. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.
• Analyze user needs to develop robust software solutions aligned with business and mission goals.
• Analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
• Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis, and distributed system design.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring of junior developers to promote engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams including Dev Ops, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture.

• Migrate all current-system functionality from the mainframes and operate within a cloud-based environment (AWS Gov Cloud).
• Transition investigative search capabilities to Elasticsearch or similar technologies to improve speed and analytical capabilities for law enforcement users.
• Build new microservices using Open Shift based container platforms following scalable, cloud native patterns.
• Support integration with event driven architectures and high throughput data processing systems.

We require:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience or Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Experience developing microservices, REST APIs, and cloud native applications.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and automated deployments.
• Experience designing, developing, and operating solutions in AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with event driven architectures and two or more of the following:
  • Apache Kafka
  • Pub/Sub patterns
  • Streaming
  • Event sourcing
• Experience operating within Git Ops practices (Git Lab, Git Hub, Bitbucket, ArgoCD, etc.).
• Experience working within Agile frameworks, including participation in Scrum/SAFe ceremonies.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
