RADAR is building a data infrastructure layer for physical retail stores, leveraging proprietary overhead sensors, software, and AI‑powered analytics to continuously locate every product down to the fixture.

Radar is hiring a Systems Engineer who will take end‑to‑end ownership of system‑level inventory features. The system includes custom RFID sensors with hardware, firmware, software, and cloud integration. The Systems Engineer will lead cross‑functional feature development, ensuring performance and quality standards across all subsystems.

• Own end‑to‑end feature implementation, from requirement definition to testing, debugging, and customer release.
• Lead cross‑functional work groups, validate and debug issues, analyze test data, and report status to leadership.
• Write detailed, testable feature requirements with clear acceptance criteria, and decompose them to subsystem levels.
• Create and run data analyses in Python/SQL to understand field performance and translate findings into actionable improvements.
• Develop and execute a plan for feature problem resolution and release, communicating scope and timing to engineering and product leadership.

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• 3‑5 years of experience with integrated hardware, firmware, and software sensors or products.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience writing system requirements, test plans, or feature specs that guide cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments.
• Experience working across hardware and software disciplines.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a “figure it out” attitude toward difficult problems.

• Experience working on RF systems.
• Experience writing and automating test scripts for integrated hardware/software products.

In your first 30 days, you will: learn RADAR’s mission, technology stack, and core values; complete onboarding and security compliance training; and familiarize yourself with RADAR’s system architecture.

In your first 60 days, you will: dive into the current status of your feature, create a work plan, build relationships with key stakeholders, and understand testing capabilities and data infrastructure.

In your first 90 days, you will: understand the full scope of your feature, lead weekly cross‑functional feature meetings, create performance requirements, and conduct hands‑on data analysis to compare against those requirements.

Base salary range: $120,000 – $160,000, determined by location and qualifications. Additional benefits include equity, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) plan, flexible time off, and paid parental leave.
