Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software running on embedded Linux-based aircraft hardware.
- Build features for network management, connectivity monitoring, OTA updates, and observability.
- Develop production-quality software using C/C++, Python, or similar languages.
- Integrate software across hardware platforms using abstraction layers.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
- Work closely with architects, QA, networking, and security teams.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years designing or enhancing software systems.
- Experience across the full SDLC.
- Proficiency in at least one language: C++, C, Python, Java, etc.
- Must have ONE of the following:
- Embedded software development (C/C++)
- Platform/system software development (OS to application stack)
- Network configuration and troubleshooting
- Embedded Linux development.
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, QoS.
- Docker, Kubernetes, virtualization technologies.
- Python or Bash scripting.
- OTA software deployment and rollback mechanisms.
- Security concepts: secure boot, cryptography, threat modeling.
- Aerospace, avionics, or DO-178C exposure (nice to have).
- Viasat, Panasonic Avionics, Thales
- Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, Comm Scope, Sagemcom, Vantiva, SERCOMM
- Aerospace, networking, industrial automation, automotive embedded systems
- RDK, broadband gateway, CPE, Wi-Fi device, or middleware development
- Strong Linux, networking, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience deploying software on hardware devices.
- Knowledge of OTA updates, rollback, and reliability engineering.
- Writes clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
- Comfortable implementing against predefined architectures.
- Aviation experience is a plus, not mandatory.
