Make a difference by supporting and encouraging athletes!
Volunteers support the event by supervising athletic events. Volunteer duties include:
- Making sure athletes have the necessary equipment
- Timers
- Helping athletes to their lane
- Knowing where athletes are at all times
- Submitting the scores for your event
- Awarding the athletes their medals and ribbons
Special Olympics Southern California is also looking for help with serving lunch, set up/breakdown, and photographers.

The mission of Special Olympics Southern California is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
