Summary:

CED, founded in 1957 and one of the largest electrical wholesalers in the U.S., is looking for Wire Room Associates to support its top-ranked San Diego (Kearny Mesa), CA, location. CED has more than 700 profit centers across the U.S. Each location operates as an independent business.

This is an entry-level position that provides an opportunity to get a foot in the door at an established company, with upward mobility potential in a casual, fast-paced, blue-collar industry. We are looking for a reliable applicant who is willing to pitch in wherever needed and can perform all duties with little supervision once trained. The shift hours are 7:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ This position will offer a variety of tasks, and each shift will bring a new list of urgent items to be addressed. We need people that are adaptable, organized, and able to anticipate what needs to be prioritized without being micromanaged. A partial list of duties includes (but is not limited to):

+ Safely operate wire cutting and measuring machines to cut, coil, and respool wire to exact customer specifications.

+ Accurately pull wire from large bulk spools, verify product codes, gauges and colors, and prepare orders for shipping or will call orders.

+ Restock wire racks, track bulk inventory, and assist with inventory management.

+ Utilize forklifts, pallet jackets, and hand trucks to load/unload heavy wire reels and pallets.

+ Stock incoming material on shelves in a neat and organized manner, bringing down overstock to fill empty shelves.

+ Learn our internal system, get familiar with paperwork, and accurately log material information for invoices to be processed through accounting.

+ Check orders that have been pulled for accuracy before delivery to customers.

+ Participate in keeping warehouse clean/stocked - sweep, pick up trash, empty trash cans, replenish supplies.

+ Unload trucks.

+ Operate a forklift (if not already, we can train and certify).

Working Conditions:

Warehouse environment and outdoor conditions with seasonal temps including extreme hot/cold temperatures, for which we have safety education and protocols in place.

Essential Job Functions:

-    Identify, measure, and cut the correct wire for customers.

-    Fill product orders ensuring accuracy of measurement and wire product selection.

-    Operate the forklift as needed to complete project work.

-    Maintaining the assigned work zone.

-    Resolving discrepancies with appropriate departments.

-    Assisting with other warehouse duties as assigned.

-    Assign and distribute work through a computer.

-    General housekeeping.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range for this position is $22 to $24 hourly.
