Description
SUMMARY
The Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for managing daily warehouse operations. This role oversees warehouse staff, ensures accurate inventory management, coordinates shipping and receiving, and partners with other departments to drive efficiency and productivity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Directly supervise warehouse operations, including loading/unloading, shipping/receiving, sorting, put-away, picking, and inventory control.
- Lead by example, ensuring all procedures and best practices are consistently followed.
- Provide training, coaching, feedback, and development support to maintain an efficient and motivated team.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular physical counts, cycle count activity, and reconciliation of discrepancies within the warehouse inventory system.
- Administer the review and prioritization of finished goods through final inspection.
- Coordinate shipping and production priorities with line supervision based on management direction and the MRP schedule backlog.
- Monitor inventory and shipment transactions for accuracy.
- Ensure inventory and storage areas are clean and well-maintained.
- Enforce safety standards and adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor warehouse associates to ensure safe operation of forklifts, narrow aisle lifts, and other machinery.
- Authorize purchases for required supplies.
- Manage final close of work orders, remedy of negative committed quantities, scheduling of outside processing materials, and equipment training and certification for assigned personnel.
- Support SQDC improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities to resolve non-conformances.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Warehouse Inventory, Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- 4+ years of warehouse or supply chain experience required.
- Experience with inventory control, inventory reconciliation, and cycle counting required.
- 1+ year of supervisory experience preferred.
- APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification is preferred or willing to complete the APICS certification program, or equivalent, within two years of employment.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and good driving record is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Conversational in any other language is a plus.
- Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and inventory management software required.
- Experience with ERP systems required; familiarity with MRP scheduling is a plus.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and traffic/logistics coordination preferred.
- Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, and other warehouse equipment; current or ability to obtain certification required.
