PBX Operator - Communications

Overview

San Dimas Community Hospital is a 101 bed facility located on a 13-acre campus in the heart of San Dimas. It offers a full range of comprehensive services, including 24-hour emergency services, a family birth center, orthopedic surgery, advanced diagnostic services, cardiopulmonary and gastrointestinal services. The hospital has received multiple awards for patient safety and excellence.

The PBX Operator / Receptionist is responsible for answering the switchboard and pages overhead, greeting and directing people to the appropriate departments. The PBX operator monitors the hospital alarms and must be aware of the policy and procedures of all hospital emergency codes. The role requires effective communication with the populations served.

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous PBX experience preferred.
• Previous experience in office or receptionist role.
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to multi‑task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Customer services experience preferred.

Our approximate starting compensation for this role is $21.00 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of selection and will consider factors such as skill set, experience, education, and credentials.
